Kitty cat battle mounts!
Rebecca Dartr_dart on September 13th, 2010 11:33 pm (UTC)
Yes, the most feared and vicious steed.

Ah, cows, they laugh to prevent themselves from crying.
jodycodyjoelcarroll on September 13th, 2010 05:42 pm (UTC)
AAWWWWWW...that poor battle kitty has a booboo!

Could you please do a full on book full of these, like a child's picture book?
Rebecca Dartr_dart on September 13th, 2010 11:42 pm (UTC)
Wow, that would be fun wouldn't it. It's on the back burner.
tony_clifftony_cliff on September 13th, 2010 06:33 pm (UTC)
Oh man, I do not even know what to make of this. MORE PUZZLING THAN LOST.
I also feel real bad for the one-eyed cat. D'awww.
Presumably those little Babybel things are excreted from the sort of third-eye tube on the top of the statue's head?
Rebecca Dartr_dart on September 13th, 2010 11:52 pm (UTC)
I think that statue would have fit perfectly on the set of Lost, you could have polar bears running around it.

I think you've discovered the most beautiful word phrase in the English language: excreted Babybels.

La... La Vache Qui Rit ?
Rebecca Dartr_dart on September 13th, 2010 11:55 pm (UTC)
Oui.

It's always funny to realize that a thing that is such a part of French culture is also known outside of our borders. Of course if one of our cheese is going to be known internationally, it'd have to be the less stinky and the more industrial one...

Anyway, here's a little story about it :

In the 60's, when the design was slightly different, someone realized that by cutting out the box a certain way, a caricature of the general De Gaulle would appear :

Seconded.
Bravo!
Rebecca Dartr_dart on September 13th, 2010 11:56 pm (UTC)
Thanks, yer a sweetheart!
mike_myhremike_myhre on September 13th, 2010 08:08 pm (UTC)
That poor eyeless kitty!!
Super awesome, love the adorable cow idol! It looks very familiar.
Rebecca Dartr_dart on September 14th, 2010 12:07 am (UTC)
Thanks, Mike. The cow is the apron-wearing bovine mascot of Borden milk, Elsie the Cow, she's been around since the 40's and according to their website is one of the top ten advertising icons of all time (I don't know how true that is). It's the symbol for female domestication so I thought it would be sort of funny to have that in world of violent, anarchist barbarian women.
DuckFOOduckfoo on September 13th, 2010 11:36 pm (UTC)
If you ask me, the true goddess is the one who drew this wonderful picture.
Rebecca Dartr_dart on September 14th, 2010 12:08 am (UTC)
Oh, puh-shaw...you know how to butter up a lady.
DuckFOOduckfoo on September 14th, 2010 12:13 am (UTC)
In more ways than one! ;)

What the fuck are you talking about?
Katocicatsy on September 14th, 2010 01:16 am (UTC)
Dude, you keep setting new pinnacles for cute badassery!

I love how proud of herself that kitten at the top is for having achieved the highest pinnacle on the landscape.
Rebecca Dartr_dart on September 14th, 2010 07:26 pm (UTC)
Thanks for the kind words, and yes, that kitty is in the proverbial catbird seat.
sloanecraqued on September 14th, 2010 02:07 am (UTC)
you are awesome
Rebecca Dartr_dart on September 14th, 2010 07:28 pm (UTC)
Aw, thanks.
Maxine Frankdandydevildog on September 14th, 2010 07:10 am (UTC)
Idolatry at its finest! I think my favourite barbarian girl is the one with the axe in the shadows, such intensity.
Rebecca Dartr_dart on September 14th, 2010 07:31 pm (UTC)
Thanks. There's an old babarian saying: beware of shadowy battle axe beneath the statue of a bovine mascot.

One-eyed kitty has not heard that saying.

Is she fierce?
Rebecca Dartr_dart on September 14th, 2010 07:32 pm (UTC)
Of course!

Thanks so much for the nice comments, they are like the winds of kindness for my artistic turbine.

Actually the last few pictures I did was supposed to be for sketch book for a sci-fi convention that was supposed to be held here in Vancouver, but it got cancelled, so i'm just posting what I finished for it here.

But, maybe I'll still put it together as soon as I have some more images.
McHankquocmachinery on September 14th, 2010 03:58 pm (UTC)
beautiful lines
Rebecca Dartr_dart on September 14th, 2010 07:48 pm (UTC)
Geez, thanks *blush*... oh... you mean the drawing. *sigh*
McHankquocmachinery on September 14th, 2010 07:57 pm (UTC)
Oh I meant you... there's a drawing?
darkwaterfrey: OLDHAM!darkwaterfrey on September 15th, 2010 02:45 am (UTC)
It's Elsie the Cow! Wow, I gotta say that aged statue is really well drawn.

Just like EVERYONE else, I too would enjoy a delux-hardcover edition of Battle Kats and Bitches...so stop making us beg! You've already pre-sold them to us.

(Well, at the very least to me, cause I love your drawing so much--the line-work, the gestures, the compositions....SWOON!)
Rebecca Dartr_dart on September 16th, 2010 06:23 pm (UTC)
Thanks Doug! Hopefully I'll get my ass together enough and put together a sketch book soon.
James Lloydpuddingsock on September 19th, 2010 07:21 am (UTC)
I've been thinking about what I wanted to say about this one, but I don't have the words. And to think how many have been wasted on that hump Picasso. "Guernica" is stick figures having a bad day. This here's your masterpiece.
How the hell did you make battle kitties zen? There's an awesome serenity to this piece; the entire composition is blow away, but somehow the shadow coming off the sainted heifer's top ear just sells the whole thing.
And I'm so dumb I didn't even get the joke originally. I just thought you were giving a nod to some eastern mysticism... and IS that a third eye Bessy's sporting? It's seen deep into me. A lick of divine flame has alighted on my head in the form of fat chicks sitting on their fat pussies! You sweet little THING!! You titanic LUNATIC!!!
