Too Much Catnip

I hope everyone has fully recovered from their New Years festivities. I'm still working on it.

Hey, for those living in Vancouver, this is for you: I will be having some art pieces (one of which is the previous post on this here LJ) in an upcoming show at the Ayden Gallery. The opening is on Friday Jan. 8th. It starts at 7 and goes to 11. The Ayden is in Tinsel Town Mall on the second level. There are a lot of great artists in the show and I hope to see you there so we can boog-ga-loo until our hips unglue.

Hahaha boot-on-head!

I think it would be a nice place to pass out, on a kittens bellyfur.

Hey! That's my New Years resolution: to pass out on a kittens bellyfur. I have to start working on that.

Off to a good start!

363 days of adventure left!
Rebecca Dartr_dart on January 3rd, 2010 08:21 pm (UTC)
Actually, the barbarian calendar is different than ours, they celebrate a new year every three days... it's just an excuse to party.

Your art always goes down a treat! Beautiful!
Deadline week, but with you and Tim showing artwork, I think I'll have to make my way down to see the show on friday. Congrats!

We made a bid on your minotaur but lost, but I gots a jpg of it at least. I bought one of Dave Gagnon's pieces from your last show in the silent auction, though.

Thanks MIke! I hope to see you there!

Did you get Dave's "Monster With a Blue Nose"?
mike_myhremike_myhre on January 3rd, 2010 10:03 pm (UTC)
No I got his other dude. I liked it best. It now hangs next to some concert posters and my art deco horse lamp from the 20's.
Hey donkey lady! How's your donkey?: i find this humerusliviasplivia on January 3rd, 2010 12:07 pm (UTC)

Yeah, it's like getting a battle axe to the skull.

That is gonna be so awkward when they wake up. "Whuh? Guh. Huh? Oh. No. Oh, no! NO! NOT AGAIN!!!"
Rebecca Dartr_dart on January 3rd, 2010 08:25 pm (UTC)
I think it will be more like, "Woo-hoo, it happened again!"
seanvdmseanvdm on January 3rd, 2010 07:25 pm (UTC)
gorgeous stuff.. I love those details, the skull, the drinking jars, and of course the international comic book sign for drunkenness over her head!

Jeeeeeeeeeze! I feel this drawing! It took me two days to get over my new years eve!

BEAUTIFUL!

I wish I could attend your show. Congratulations!

Skull flagons are the only way to drink! Love the giant catnip mouse too.
I wish I were closer to Vancouver so I could come to the show :( V seems like a really cartoonist-friendly town too. Only it must be so cold there. Me no like cold!!!
Rebecca Dartr_dart on January 4th, 2010 06:15 am (UTC)
Uh... don't you live in New York? Isn't New York cold?

I think it got a couple degrees below freezing for a few nights here. We haven't had any snow and we were walking around in our sweatshirts today. Vancouver has very mild weather, but it does rain a lot here, bein' a temperate rainforest 'n shit.
Hugosersugg on January 4th, 2010 04:16 pm (UTC)
See, I just assumed that, being in Canada, it'd be cold. Whenever it's freezing down here, as it is now, they always blame it on that cold air coming down from Canada. Shows how little I know. Now I'll no longer blame you guys as I freeze my miserable ass off in the bitter, bone-stripping winds, as it's clearly not your fault.
deathchalupa on January 4th, 2010 04:08 am (UTC)
you do the best curves
Rebecca Dartr_dart on January 4th, 2010 06:15 am (UTC)
They say, draw what you know.

Doesn't stop with you does it? I know this is just a fun little sketch, but there's just such beautiful form and charm to it, it makes the dutch masters look like humps.
I will be there friday, six inch spikes in hand, so that I may gouge out my eyes in exultation once subsumed by the searing awareness that inflames my cerebellum whenever I gaze upon your works.
